Capture alloy grade, heat-treat state, grain-flow direction, flash plan, and finish machining allowances before inviting suppliers. Ambiguous envelopes drive quote variance and scrap risk.
Prefer suppliers with published forging process claims, press tonnage evidence, and IATF 16949 or ISO 9001 certificate holders. Filter the manufacturer directory by forging and certification.
Ask for material certificates, first-article / PPAP pathway, and dimensional report protocols aligned to your drawing revision. Keep NDA-gated CAD until a claim or membership is verified.
